On the first frosty day of the year the children of year 1 spent the morning outdoors:

• finding ice in puddles, on surfaces and in containers
• photographing the bare trees (the willow and ash have now lost all their leaves)
• collecting fallen leaves from the playground
• collecting wood for the fire and warming their hands
