Welcome

         Head Teachers Welcome

Welcome to our school website.

We are a friendly, one-form entry school in Hythe. We pride ourselves on the commitment we show to our community and the families within it.

Our core purpose is to enable and challenge all learners to flourish.  All staff work to provide inspirational opportunities and an environment that enhances children’s learning and that encourages them to 'be the best that they can be' in all that they do.  This is both about academic standards and the wider contribution to the school and the community.

We have created a curriculum that encourages children to be curious and independent learners; to learn collaboratively and support each other; to value diversity and difference; to celebrate and enjoy learning; to be responsible and good citizens and to care for themselves and other people.  The curriculum has been created around key knowledge and skills that develop and link, as children move through school, preparing them for secondary school and a life beyond.

Visitors to the school always comment on the welcoming and warm atmosphere we provide.  We have an open-door policy that encourages parents to be partners in their child's learning journey, and we believe this is critical to every child’s successful development.  Relationships are at the heart of all we do.

We are very proud of the children who attend our school and of all of their achievements!  Celebrating success, whether big or small, is an important aspect of our ethos and is very much a part of the relationships we build and our aspiration to understand each child as an individual, so we can successfully meet their needs.

We hope our website provides you with a flavour of what Waterside offers our families and the information you require.  If you are interested in visiting the school, you are always welcome to arrange a visit and the pupils will be delighted to show you what makes Waterside such an exceptional and rewarding school experience.
