Hythe Alive put on these types of events to give the kids in the area something fun to do, and also to raise money for really good causes. They're responsible for the Halloween Trail, Pirate Day, The Scarecrow Festival and many more! This year the money will be going to Cancer Research and Hythe Alive.

We’ll be delivering a fun and engaging programme of themed arts and crafts, alongside multi-sports activities and games, ensuring there’s something for every child to enjoy.

Funded by the Department for Education, the programme enables local authorities to offer healthy food and enriching holiday activities to children who would normally receive benefit-related FSM during term time. A limited number of discretionary places are also available for other vulnerable families.

For our upcoming February half term delivery, there are over 80 sites across Hampshire. These venues including schools, childcare providers, community groups, and sports organisations, all delivering a variety of activities. February is the first time we have run a half-term HAF Programme and although we can only spend 5% of our budget on this delivery period, we are pleased to be able to offer a number of schemes in each area.

Holiday Activities and Food Programme (HAF) | Hampshire CTSH

Attached are flyers listing the HAF schemes running in each district. We would be grateful for schools’ help in sharing the relevant flyer with families of children who receive benefit-related free school meals and other identified vulnerable families who may benefit from HAF schemes.

The programme is funded by the Department for Education so that local authorities can offer healthy food and enriching activities in the school holidays to children who receive benefit-related free school meals during term time. A small number of places are also available on HAF schemes for other vulnerable families.

Parent Carer Forums are an organised group of parents and carers from a local area, with children and young people aged 0-25 with a disability or any additional needs including mental health.

Their aim is to work in a solution-focused way to make sure that services in their area meet the needs of children with disabilities and their families. Forums provide the opportunity to tell the Local Authority, Health and other services, what life is really lived experiences. Using in-person get-togethers, surveys and online support we work to gather views - Together we are enabling voices to beheard

Parents and carers with children due to move to secondary school next year can now apply for their child’s school place for September 2026. The deadline for applications is Friday 31 October 2025.  

Applications can be submitted online, or parents can request an electronic form by emailing admissions.team@hants.gov.uk.

 Please follow the below guidance when submitting your application:

• Name three schools on your application to give you the best chance of being offered a place at one of your preferred schools
• Submit your application on time, before the 31 October deadline
• Use the County Council’s school catchment area finder to check the catchment school for your address
• Read the schools’ admissions policies and look at previous years’ admissions data to get an indication of how many places schools can allocate and the criteria that will be used to allocate places if the school is oversubscribed

• Think about how your child will get to school. See travel to school to help plan your journey and find out if you are eligible for help with transport. You must name your catchment school(s) as a preference if you wish to apply for transport assistance.
